The Johannesburg Zoo

Animals at the Johannesburg Zoo
- Birds
There are over 140 different species of bird in the Joburg Zoo. These range from Ducks, Geese, Black Swans, Parrots and the national bird, the Blue Crain. - Carnivores
Visitors to the zoo will be able to see a host of carnivorous animals such as Wild Dogs, the Fennec Fox and wild cats including the Serval, African Wild Cat. Other carnivores include Pumas, White Lions, Siberian Tigers, Leopards, Cheetahs, Hyenas and the Honey Badger among others. - Frogs and reptiles
Reptiles from all across the globe can be found at the Joburg Zoo. These include Snakes, Lizards, crocodiles, tortoises and other amphibians. Specially designed enclosures allow visitors an up close view of the Black Mamba, Gaboon Viper, the Anaconda and the Burmese Python.
Other animals that call the zoo home are part of 200 species of chimpanzees, Gorillas, Bonobos, orang-utans. The Zoo also houses Hippos, Rhinos, Horses, Pigs, Camels, Giraffes, Antelope and Water Buffalo among many others.
